DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Meredith Davenport
My husband and I came to Maple Hill in 2009. We knew immediately that this is where we wanted to be and felt it was the perfect church home to grow as a couple in Christ and to raise our future family. I have been involved in many ministry areas over the years, but my heart is in working with children.
In March of 2020, I was honored to be named the Director of Children’s Ministries. I have two verses that I feel guide this ministry. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” We find the second verse in Matthew 19:14, “Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
It is my goal to work together with our congregation, coordinators and volunteers to train and teach every child how to love and follow Jesus. We are excited about all of the options offered to our kids as they get involved and learn to serve in our congregation and community.
I have been married to Jeffrey Davenport since May 2007. He serves as a deacon for the church and is involved in several ministries here. We have two wonderful boys, Levi and Turner, who love all of the activities and opportunities they have through this ministry. They both play sports, and we love to watch them on the field doing what they love. As a family, we like to travel, hike, swim and just enjoy the beautiful nature God has given us.
Moving forward, I pray that I’m able to step out of His way, and let the Lord work through me in this role. I can’t wait to see what He does for the children of Maple Hill!
We place great value on our children and families at Maple Hill! And within our Children’s Ministry, we desire, more than anything else, to grow in Christ. We aim to accomplish this through our weekly Bible classes, Sunday Night Children’s Worship, our Lads to Leaders program, and monthly Family Devotionals. We want our families to grow in the knowledge of the Bible and in the love of God.
Whether it be our attended nurseries for the younger ones, or our Bible classes, safety is important to us! We encourage our parents to take advantage of the security check-in stations found around the building for Bible classes for birth-Kindergarten.
It is our goal to do everything within our power to help our children and their families get to Heaven!
