“Because God Says So..." (Luke 1:26-38)
Are you good at taking orders?
In our society, any threat to our independence is rarely appreciated and is often resisted. We value autonomy and control. Yet when it comes to our faith, Scripture calls us to something countercultural: submission to God and His plan for our lives.
At times, obedience is easier because God graciously provides reasons for His commands. We can often see how His ways lead to life and blessing. But God does not always give us the clarity we want. There are moments when obedience requires trust—when we are called to follow even though the full picture has not been revealed.
This Sunday morning at Maple Hill, we will reflect on Mary, the mother of Jesus. She is not given complete clarity about what her future will hold, yet her response reveals a deep faith and trust in God. Through Mary, we see something essential for every believer: wholehearted surrender to God.
We would love for you to join us this Sunday.
