Sometimes we feel tossed to and fro by life. Whether it is a cancer diagnosis, a loss of a loved one, financial difficulties, or general busyness, it is very easy to feel like our world is falling apart. However, life doesn’t have to be that way. Even when life tries to knock you down, we can stand firm and meet any challenge that comes our way through faith. Faith is what Christians have to overcome the world. The question for us is, “Will our faith in God be deep enough to face the fiercest of storms?”
In 2024, our church family at Maple Hill will strive to deepen the roots of our faith so we can persevere through the most difficult times in our lives.
We would love for you to join us this year as we try to be firmly rooted in God.
Rooted in Christ: “On the Other Side of Fear” (Matthew 10:24-33)
Don't you like to be liked?
Most people do not set out to be a bad person, a difficult neighbor, a mean-spirited spouse or parent, or a trouble child. Why? We want to have good relationships with others. We want to have friends. Ultimately, we like to be liked.
However, sometimes the call to follow Jesus means that we are called to be hated. Many times, that hate comes from the message we spread.
This Sunday morning at Maple Hill we will speak about the spiritual practice of spreading the good news and how we can overcome the fear of rejection that often comes with it. And I believe we will see that if we do manage to get on the other side of fear and share our faith, there are so many blessings in store for us.
