Practical Faith - “Born for Adversity” (James 5:7-12)

When someone tells you to “Be patient,” how do you feel?

Likely, this command is the last thing that we want to hear, and often it makes us more impatient and mad. However, that is exactly what James tells the suffering Christians in James 5.

I am sure this message was a hard one to hear, but James says something repeatedly throughout this section of Scripture that should give every Christian comfort. James reminds these Christians that they are not alone in their suffering - they are all a part of the family of God.

This Sunday morning at Maple Hill we will talk about how we might have to wait a long time on the Lord to deliver us from our suffering, but we will also see that God created a family where no one has to suffer alone.
