The teens of Maple Hill’s youth group come from diverse backgrounds, but we all seek to be united in Christ and grow in Him. As we seek unity and growth, we balance our youth ministry among four categories of involvement:
Education. We seek to help our teens to know the Scriptures so that they can apply them to the things that they are facing in life.
Service. We want our youth group to be active in serving others. Whether it’s mowing a widow’s yard, cutting firewood, taking food to the homeless, or cleaning the house of someone in need, we want to teach them to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Spiritual Growth. We want to offer opportunities for our teens to come closer to God. Some of these activities include: mission trips, youth rallies, Evangelism University, retreats, and church camps.
Fun. Amusement parks, canoeing, camping, hiking, volleyball, lock-ins, go-karts – if it’s fun, we’re there!
Through these areas of involvement, our youth group has seen the need to stand out and make a difference for Christ. The teens even named our teen room “The Summit,” in reference to Matthew 5:14: “A city set on a hill cannot be hidden”. We hope that all of our young people live a life that is different than the world and focused on shining the light of Jesus.
1 Timothy 4:12. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
